Wordless Wednesday

This one's a bit old - none of my kids were even born. But it still cracks me up to see it! Dh and I were in Phoenix for my younger brother's wedding (2001) and the wedding photographer wanted to do a family shoot (since we were all together) out in the beautiful desert sunset. To get the shot that she wanted, she had my brother sit down and as you can see, he sat upon a common desert plant - jumping CACTUS! My dad had to pluck itfrom his behind while we all cracked up!

Great pic! Makes me homesick, I used to live in Arizona.

I stepped on a jumping cactus when I was a kid and it went all the way through my tennis shoe and they had to use pliers to get the spines out. I definitely wasn't laughing. Those things hurt! I think it gets funnier with age though :)

That is too funny! What a great picture.

2 days ago my 1st grade son told me that he wants me to homeschool him next year (he presently goes to a wonderful christian school). I told him that we would pray about it over the next few weeks and see what the Lord tells us. His response was, "How will we know? God doesn't talk to us like he did in the Old Testament!" Then I had to go into the whole hearing Him in our heart explanation which I think I lost my son on..... anyway.....

I would like to introduce myself. I am a new WAHM and am excited to begin networking with moms and grandmothers who are juggling the many roles they have in life just as I am.

I had a 15 year career as an accountant for a publicly traded company and I missed out on so many of the precious moments in the lives of my boys. In August of ’07 I finally took the step of faith and left my full-time employment so that I could have the time, energy, and flexibility to focus on the needs of my tween (age 12) and 1st grader (age 6).

I have built a website which focuses on the essentials of family living, hence the name ~ www.essentialfamilyliving.com and http://essentialfamilyliving.blogspot.com/. One of my favorite topics of discussion is Family Fun Night and I have dedicated much of my blog space to this subject.
I would love for you to view my site and blog then comment with any suggestions, advice, or encouragement.

Thank you for the consideration.
Blessing on your day!
