He has really opened up in this last year and we are so thankful. Last winter was particularly tough on him since he developed so many food sensitivities that his immune system couldn't even fight a small cold virus. It was often the norm for him just to be hollering and fussing in his misery through yet another cold since he couldn't yet talk to us with words. But every once in a while his silly and sweet personality would shine through.
With the past six months of speech therapy, Adam has learned to copy almost everything that we say. He can make his needs clear and express himself exponentially more than ever before. But mostly, he can BE HIMSELF! Oh...he is soooo sweet and smart and silly and clever. He loves to pretend with his cars and his sister and to oogle over his baby brother. He loves to get chased around the house and to hide from the 'ba guys' (bad guys). He super-duper loves to play with play dough! And he definitely loved his third birthday party!
Happy Birthday to our little guy! We love him so much and can't wait to see what God is going to do in his next year!

Happy Birthday, Adam!
Our son is a month and a half behind Adam. Isn't this quite the transitional age? Everyday I notice that he is more boy and less toddler than even the day before!
Best wishes,
Mrs. Edwards
Congratulations, Adam, and Happy Birthday.
I love the looks of that cake! I bet it was delicious.
God bless,
Mrs J (Sharon)
That cake rocks! Awesome job mommy!
So sweet! He's a cutie and your Bob the Tomato cake is awesome!
My son would have LOVED that cake when he was younger -- although his favorite was Larry!
I've been through the speech therapy thing with two of my kids, so I know how exciting it is to finally see them express themselves. I'm sure it will be an exciting year for your little guy.
Thanks for visiting my blog and for your nice comment. It's nice to get to "know" you through your blog -- sometimes I feel like I'm stalking you because every time I start following a new blog I see you in the comments section! We must have similar tastes. : )

Happy (belated) birthday, Adam! :)
Oh, I'm so glad things are improving with his speed, too! Sounds like you're getting a good handle on everything. You and me... we were a good mess together last year, weren't we? :)
Since Nathan didn't qualify for early intervention, we had to wait until he was three to start speech therapy through the school system. We'll be going for the initial evaluation in January. Although he is starting to make complete thoughts and sentences, my husband still brings him to me to interpret sometimes... so there is still work to do.
Unfortunately, he had a ruptured ear drum this past month from an ear infection. I think his hearing may have diminished from it, but I'm still not certain. Lots to figure out in the new year, but I think last year was the roughest.
And before I finish up this comment, I just want to say ...
THAT WAS AN AWESOME CAKE!!! :)
